RISING LOCAL STAR PLAYS DU NORD
January 14th, 2005

Josh Fix & The Furious Force
Josh Fix may not be a household name yet, but the songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has already started to create a stir with his soaring voice and knack for compelling melodies. Echoing the majesty of Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury, the heart-on-the-sleeve angst of the late Jeff Buckley and the tuneful songcraft of Elton John, Fix has managed to put together a top-flight band (the Furious Force), open for the Who at the Verizon Amphitheater and earn such noted fans as Lenny Kravitz, Toto's Steve Lukather and Eddie Van Halen on the strength of his songs.

Even with no recorded material beyond his initial demo and a seven-song EP released in 2004, Fix has gotten airplay on local classic-rock radio station KFOG and built up an enthusiastic Bay Area fan base. With major labels jockeying for position to release his debut album, chances are the songwriter won't be playing intimate clubs like Cafe Du Nord for long. Be able to say you saw Josh Fix and the Furious Force back in the day when they perform alongside like-minded piano-centered band Thriving Ivory and Fred Saturday night.
